Participants at the Deakin University research focus group

Disability Advocacy Service Inc. recently participated in a research focus group with Deakin University exploring disability advocacy and service provision in regional Australia.

This collaborative research initiative aims to understand the challenges and opportunities for advocacy services in regional communities. The focus group brought together service providers, people with disability, and researchers to discuss:

  • Current barriers to accessing advocacy services in regional areas
  • Strategies for improving service delivery and accessibility
  • The role of technology in connecting regional communities
  • Best practices in person-centered advocacy
  • Partnerships and collaboration opportunities

Our participation in this research underscores our commitment to continuous improvement and ensuring our advocacy services meet the needs of our community. The insights gained from this focus group will help shape evidence-based approaches to disability advocacy across regional Australia.

We look forward to seeing the findings of this research and contributing to the broader conversation about strengthening disability advocacy services.
